The HRD Ministry has received 37,000 suggestions from parents, teachers and educationists regarding the government's decision to lessen the burden of books.There is a huge load of books and information, and students have no time. There is no time for physical education, value education and life will be effective from the academic session 2019.

The eight-member committee has submitted five observations and 44 recommendations in its report.

A committee appointed by the state government to look into the matter has recommended doing away with heavy school bags and urged all education boards to reduce the usage of notebooks and textbooks to make way for tablets and also provide study materials on websites.The committee has also provided specimen of timetables, suggesting schools to conduct lectures/ periods of only three subjects in a day (two periods for one subject) instead of six.

CBSE ( Central Board of Secondary Education) has come up with the decision to cut at least 25 percent of the syllabus for the kids studying till Class 8 in Delhi government schools.Students have to carry heavy bags to school, which makes it inconvenient. According to newspaper reports, the syllabus reduction will be including all the books related to sports, theatre, art and culture, music etc.
