The BJP has big plans on judicial and electoral reforms, from creation of National Judicial Commission and doubling the strength of judges and number of courts to setting up fast-track courts and making India a global hub for arbitration related cases and legal process outsourcing.

Its manifesto said the party was committed to electoral reforms to eliminate criminals from the poll process and it would, through consultation with other parties, evolve a method of holding assembly and Lok Sabha elections simultaneously. It said apart from reducing election expenses for both political parties and government, this will ensure stability for state governments. However, it did not made its stand clear whether the party was in favour of disqualification of a candidate from contesting elections if charges were framed against him by a court.
